Larvotto redevelopment work has begun

It is within the framework of the offshore extension project that the complete renovation of the Larvotto site has been decided. Major works that began a few days ago and should end in 2022.

This is a large-scale and much-anticipated project that began a few days ago and should last until the beginning of 2022: the renovation of the seaside resort of Larvotto is underway for a total redevelopment of the beach. The objective of the operation is to better protect it from the sea but also to expand public spaces, to install a bike path and finally, to offer more attractive commercial surfaces year-round. A colossal project costing 50 million euros that seeks to reconcile ecology and economic attractiveness. With this in mind, 900m2 of photovoltaic panels will be installed to supply energy to most of the site, shaded areas will be installed, and electric shuttles will be put in place to ensure the transport of goods from shops.

An ecologically considerate project

Electric charging stations and a thalassothermic loop supplying heating and air conditioning throughout the neighborhood are also planned. Last Tuesday, the restaurants of the site have closed their doors and the next day, it was access to the beach that was closed to the public to begin the installation of palisades. It will be reopened in the summer of 2020, businesses will have to wait another year to fill in their new spaces. The work will end, in principle, in January 2022. Then Monegasques and visitors alike will be able to discover the new face of Larvotto.
