Vintage threads for AS Monaco

The air is glimmering with nostalgia for AS Monaco who has chosen to reissue its iconic vintage official football jersey worn by players between 1977 and 1982 by partnering with the brand Copa who is used to working with the world’s biggest international clubs.

Fans of AS Monaco can rejoice! The club has just teamed up with the brand Copa to recreate its most famous jersey, which was acclaimed between 1977 and 1982. For a long time, AS Monaco did not particularly distinguish itself by the design of its jersey, being content with vertical red and white. That was until the day Princess Grace of Monaco proposed, in 1960, a small variant that would make all the difference: a diagonal, inspired by the coat of arms of the Principality, composed of a rhombus. A revolution that immediately appealed to both players and fans, so much so that the diagonal remains to this day the emblem of the club. A diagonal that has continued to evolve and whose peak was in the late 1970s, early 1980s, when the club won all the championships, including the Coupe de France in 1980.

An old school look to revive winning ways

It is this diagonal that the brand Copa and ASM have decided to bring up to date, re-issuing a collector’s vintage jersey with this effigy, with the famous initials of RMC in black in the center. This jersey is available as a limited edition (priced at 60 euros). This is not the first time that the Copa brand has become involved with a major football club since it has already initiated this kind of vintage project with international clubs such as Juventus FC, FC Barcelona, Boca Juniors, FC Nante, and AS Roma. A nice gift for the end of year holidays.
