Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene attended this exceptional event in tribute to the great Greek singer.

On 12 May, the Monte-Carlo Opera House hosted a fabulous event: the third edition of the Maria Callas Monaco Gala & Awards. An evening under the High Patronage of Prince Albert II, during which a number prizes are awarded in the “opera”, “environment”, “health and education” and “culture” categories.

The aim is also to pay tribute to Maria Callas, who would have turned 100 this year. The great singer was very fond of the Principality and was a close friend of Prince Rainier III and Princess Grace.

The Prince and Princess were present for the occasion, as was the famous Greek singer Nana Mouskouri, who received an award. Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene also inaugurated the exhibition about Maria Callas at the Monte-Carlo Casino.

After the concert at the Opera, the evening concluded with an auction organised by Artcurial Monaco to raise funds for the Princess Charlene Foundation.
